Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do chiropractors treat?

Chiropractors treat a wide range of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, with a particular focus on the spine. Common conditions include back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, and sports injuries. Chiropractic care can also help with issues like posture, joint pain, and even certain types of chronic pain by improving overall body alignment and function.

What should I expect during my first visit?

During your first visit, your chiropractor will conduct a thorough health assessment to understand your medical history and current symptoms. This typically involves a physical examination, a discussion of your health goals, and possibly some initial diagnostic tests. The chiropractor will then explain the findings and propose a personalized treatment plan. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss any concerns you have about your treatment.

What do i need to bring to my first appointment?

For your first appointment, bring any relevant medical records, including reports from previous treatments or diagnostics like X-rays or MRIs. It’s also helpful to bring a list of medications you’re currently taking. Wear comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement, as you may undergo physical assessments or treatments.

How long does a typical chiropractic session last?

A typical chiropractic session usually lasts between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the complexity of your condition and the treatments involved. The first visit may take longer, usually between 45 mins to an hour, as it includes a comprehensive assessment and discussion of your treatment plan.

Will I need multiple sessions?

The number of sessions you need depends on your specific condition, its severity, and your health goals. Some patients experience significant relief after just a few sessions, while others may need a longer course of treatment for optimal results. Your chiropractor will work with you to set realistic expectations and adjust your treatment plan as needed.

Do I need an X-Ray or MRI?

Not all patients require an X-ray or MRI. Your chiropractor will determine if these diagnostic tools are necessary based on your medical history, the nature of your symptoms, and the results of your initial physical examination. If there are indications of a more serious condition or if initial treatments do not provide expected relief, imaging tests may be recommended to gain a clearer understanding of your condition.
